The Publisher

Fusion Blocks is a 2D puzzle game built around one core idea, giving players a moment of calm, focused engagement. With no timers, no pressure, and smooth drag-and-drop mechanics, the game draws in casual players who return daily for extended, unhurried sessions. Its blend of strategic thinking and accessible gameplay creates a loyal audience that spends meaningful time in the app every day.

The game operates with both Banner and Native as core monetization layers, each serving a distinct role within the overall ad mix. Banner provides broad, consistent coverage across the session, while Native, integrated through PubScale's Immersive Ads SDK, targets higher-value demand within the same environment.

The Challenge

Advertisers were competing for Fusion Blocks inventory. Buying behaviour in GAM showed demand clearing well above where the waterfall was actually priced, which meant every impression was being sold for less than the market was willing to pay.

That gap is invisible in a dashboard. Revenue looks fine. The fill looks fine. Nothing flags a problem, because nothing is failing.

The reason most teams leave it alone is simple. Raising a floor is the one lever where the downside shows up immediately and the upside does not. Push too high and fill collapses, impressions go unsold, and the day's revenue is gone before anyone notices. So floors get set once, at a safe number, and stay there for months.

The real question was never whether a higher floor was possible. It was whether anyone could raise it fast enough to capture the upside and carefully enough to avoid the cliff.

The Solution

PubScale Immersive ads took over the floor strategy for Fusion Blocks on GAM.

Instead of a single floor change, the rollout was phased. Floors moved in controlled stages, each one held long enough to produce a clean read against the pre-change baseline before the next step was authorised. Fusion Blocks moved through two stages, and demand absorbed both.

What made the pacing possible was PubScale's proprietary automation layer. It tracks the trade that actually matters on a floor change, the value gained per impression against the impressions lost to unfilled inventory, and reads it continuously rather than at the end of a test window. When demand absorbs a step, the next one is cleared quickly. When it does not, the position is unwound before a full day of revenue is at risk.

That is the difference between a floor test that takes a quarter and one that resolves in three weeks. Manual floor work is slow because every step needs a human to pull a report, interpret it, and decide. PubScale removed that lag from the loop.

No SDK changes. No new ad units. No change to the player experience.

CPM rose 50.1% across the phased rollout. Critically, it rose at both stages rather than plateauing after the first, which confirmed the earlier floor had been the conservative one all along.

The value gained per impression more than covered the impressions lost to the higher floor. Revenue per day rose 10.3% and ARPDAU rose 15.4% against baseline.

ARPDAU is the number that matters most here. It confirms the lift came from monetizing the same audience better, not from a swing in traffic or a change in user mix.

Why This Matters

Floor pricing is treated as a setup task. It is a live one.

Demand shifts. Buyer competition shifts. A floor that was correct at launch is quietly underpricing inventory six months later, and the only signal is revenue that looks acceptable instead of revenue that looks great.

Fusion Blocks shows what happens when that assumption gets tested properly. No new formats, no new placements, no additional load on the player. The same inventory, priced closer to what the market was already prepared to pay.

If your floors have not moved in months, your inventory is probably worth more than it is selling for. PubScale will find out for you.
